The Industrial and Systems Engineering Program

Our Mission

Our mission is to educate students in the principles and practices of industrial and systems engineering.  We provide students with a foundational knowledge of science, mathematics, and logic. We give them practical engineering skills to solve complex problems and to build systems that symbiotically integrate people and sophisticated technology.  We prepare our students to communicate clearly and to be successful team members and effective managers.  We motivate students to think critically and to continue their professional and personal development beyond graduation.  We endeavor to conduct world-class research, asking and finding answers to pressing questions facing industry and the society. We aspire to build and to contribute to a cohort of industrial and systems engineers that have the confidence to tackle, and resilience to overcome, the challenges of the next century.
